πŸ‚πŸπŸƒ Fall in the desert
#waterfallwednesday #HikeArizona #sonorandesert #tucson
Since we've been on different schedules lately, it's been awhile since we've hiked together. Finally had a day off together today, and it was nice to have some company. Especially toward the top, when the trail turns to bullshit. #HikeArizona #thetrek #sonorandesert #pimacanyon #tucson #coupleswhohike
I think I have a problem. #notreallythough #youcanneverhavetoomanymaps Seriously though, this one is so outdated there is a giant gap/unconnected segment of the #azt that is definitely a trail now. Good thing for @guthookguides and @gaiagps even though #papermapsarestillbest #trailsillustrated
Can you spot Mr Roadrunner? I interrupted his trail run today, but only for a moment. Did you know he can run over 20 mph? #hikearizona #birding #roadrunner #sonorandesert #getoutside #traillife #hiking
Got our pictures from the @aldhawest Gathering! What a great weekend we had, and we got some pretty cool plaques too. #triplecrown #longdistancehiking #thruhike #cdt #at #pct #thetrek

Day 7 and Day 8

hikinghammonds April 7, 2016 5 Comments

Paul and I are officially on our longest backpacking trip ever. We had a fairly long day yesterday followed by a short 4 mile day into town today. We are staying in Hiawassi tonight and hiking another short day tomorrow, then we will walk into North Carolina. Here are some photos:

Those noodle packages remind me of grandma! The “Long Green Tunnel” is not looking too green yet! Hurry up, spring!

Also we turned on the air for the first time today. It was in the 90s. Think of that when you’re in the 5000s next week and (most likely) cold! Maybe it will help πŸ™‚

High down to 40’s here by Saturday , freeze possible…back to 70’s by Monday…so no telling what kind of weather you will encounter by the time y’all are in the Smoky Mtns. Continue to have fun & be safe. Love you both , Mom .
