Day 11: Zero day

We woke up this morning to the coldest morning we’ve had, but fortunately our trail magic friends had a fire going, coffee made, eggs, sausage, biscuits, hash browns, orange juice, it made it worth getting out of our sleeping bags. Temperatures tonight on the mountain are expected in the high teens, so we caught a shuttle with some other hikers into Franklin. We planned to take a Zero here in 2 days, do we bumped it up early and will hike 5 days to the Nantahala Outdoor Center for our next resupply. My knee has been hurting and the day off has been really nice, and we are happy to be sleeping indoors tonight. Well be back out tomorrow night and hiking over a 5,000 foot Mountain!

Tonight we enjoyed the only brewery in town!
