We hiked back out of town today, with full packs and an uphill climb as usual. Today was in the eighties and humid, and to make it worse there was little shade. A hailstorm last week damaged much of the foliage in the trees, leaving little reprieve from the sun. Fortunately we had a short day planned, mostly because we are at the edge of a ten mile waterless stretch after hiking about 8 miles out of town. We got to camp early, set up the hammock and washed up in the stream. Some friends joined us shortly after, and we had good company around the campfire tonight. Tomorrow we are supposed to have thunderstorms but it should stay hot into next week. It looks like tomorrow morning will be some nice hiking.
