It day began today with a nine mile uphill with an FAA tower at the top. We stopped for lunch near the tower. I saw a flock of Cedar Waxwings, then a Gray Catbird flew around us singing. 2 new birds within ten minutes! Just after the tower we passed under a rock formation called the guillotine. The afternoon had a very steep up and down that was harder on the feet, but the weather today was much nicer. It felt like high 70s, with a breeze most of the day. It’s still crazy humid outside, but we’ve actually managed a couple of rain free days so I can’t complain. 17.1 miles today, and at least as many tomorrow!
Nice picture. Of Megan that is.
Dads just jealous of that killer beard!
Wow. Lots of miles. Cool about the new birds! I’ll have to look them up when I get home.
I believe that’s the Apple Orchard Mountain radar installation. Operated by the US Air Force. Been there since the 1970s.
