Today was our new longest day. We weren’t sure we would make all the miles we wanted to, so we woke up early and got on the trail by 7. When we stopped for lunch, a hiker we camped with last night showed up. She was planning for the same camp area tonight, even after she hiked 26 miles yesterday. We ended up hiking with her for the rest of the day and made pretty good time too. When we got to the spot where camping was supposed to be, there was no camp spots anywhere. Several others came here too, and the next camping is another 5 miles. We all decided to get cozy and crammed about 4 tents into a space that would better serve 1-2. Someone else is under the footbridge by the river, and one more tucked into the trees. Tomorrow we will go to Buena Vista and resupply.
Did you say 26 miles in ONE DAY?!
Wow! 22 miles! What is the picture of the white things, a flower?
Yes it’s a parasitic flower that feeds off the roots of trees, so it has no chlorophyll (no green)
Meggy you guys are killing it. That is a looongg hike. Good on ya.
