I might also call this day the return of dirt! After a solid month of walking on rocks, stones, boulders, and slickrock, there were actual sections of trail today that looked like real trail! We were also reminded that the AT is actually steep most of the time, we’ve been spoiled on that front lately and it will all be ending soon as we get a bit more North. Today we walked the border of New York and Connecticut before crossing into CT for good. The heat is still crazy, and the mosquitos are insane. We’re starting to run into lots of southbound hikers too. 21.8 miles today.
