We decided to take a zero day in Fort Montgomery for a little more rest. It’s been in the 90s all week so the air conditioning was a real luxury. On our day out of town we only planned on hiking 7 miles so we waited until after 6pm to start hiking. It was still 90 outside but only got cooler. We camped at the ballfield of a religious center, which also had a shower for hikers and a water pump.
