Day 173: Roots, Rocks, Rain

It rained on us today. Maine is already mostly roots and rocks, add some water and mud to the mix and we were slipping and sliding all over the place. Today we crossed the Kennebec River, too dangerous to ford so the official AT route is a canoe ferry. One guy in a canoe, shuttling hikers back and forth all day. It’s supposed to rain tonight, so we are sleeping in a shelter. We went 17.8 miles today.
