We broke camp a little after 5 this morning, carrying 4 liters of water each to get us through the day, optimistic that the water cache in 15 miles would be stocked, prepared to go 30 miles to water if it wasn’t. It was! The morning was cooler than the past few days and the day was windy, helpful as we had several sustained climbs. We rested at the water cache for 2 hours before heading back out to hike 10 more miles in the afternoon. We reached the top of a long climb and saw for the first time the snowy mountains that lie ahead of us: the Sierra Nevada. It was exciting to see. We have just 60 miles of desert left. Today we walked 25 miles.
Go go go!
