This morning was cool, and although we left camp in no hurry and not particularly early, we found we had gone the 10 miles to the first water by 10am. We took a nice long break before heading on, though at a slower pace as the day warmed up. We walked across many fields of lava rocks, then into the forest. There are many types of pines and firs, covered in various lichens. Berries are cropping up at knee level amongst the various shrubs and ferns on the forest floor. If only there was more water around here! We hiked 27 miles today and are dry camped about 9 miles before the next water.
Going to be 97 degrees in Seattle by Wed. So you may be hot for awhile
Just your luck and who would guess? No water in Oregon😀
