Days 79-82: Ashland

We woke up early on Friday morning to get to Ashland as early as possible. We had 22 miles to get to town, and we left camp a little after 6. The terrain was pretty easy and the weather was nice. We talked to some trail maintainers preparing a section of trail for a race over the weekend. There were several patches of snow where they had literally shoveled the trail clear to make it safe for the race. We had generally pristine trail conditions the entire way, plus a bit of trail magic! We made it to Ashland by 2pm, and our friend Casey came to pick us up with his son Wyatt.

In Ashland, we got new shoes and some new clothes, resupplied for the next section, and m mailed a few things home we no longer need. In the end we stayed for 3 zero days, waiting for a package that had gotten delayed and spending time with our friends. We had a lot of fun, but we are antsy to get back to the trail!
