Day 90: Shelter Cove

The promise of hot food always gets us going at a good speed. Today we had around 17 miles to walk to Shelter Cove, a resort marina on Odell Lake. We sent ourselves a resupply box there, and also planned to get a bite at the restaurant. We hiked through Diamond Peak Wilderness, and went through more snow than we have in over 500 miles. Nothing too crazy, but the mosquitos were out in full force again.
We made it in time for lunch but were sad to discover the restaurant was closed for the day. We settled for frozen burritos heated in the microwave instead. We stayed all afternoon, went swimming in the lake and charged our phones and power pack. In the evening we headed back up the side trail to the PCT and camped at the trailhead. It was a fun day today.
