Day 2: 24 Miles
Today was mostly cold, very windy, and, in the afternoon, wet. For most of the morning we climbed, so the cold wasn’t so bad. We stopped for lunch in the sun near a lake, but the moment we sat down, clouds moved in, the wind picked up, and it started to rain.
We set up the tarp for shelter and tried to wait out the weather. Here Paul was especially grumpy because we forgot our 2 bags of potato chips in the car at the trailhead. We had to settle for other trail snacks while we waited out the rain. After it became apparent the weather wasn’t going to improve, we resigned ourselves to our fate, and ventured into the cold wet forest. The final hour of the day was the warmest as it finally dried up. We even got a few views. Tomorrow should be dry and a little bit warmer.
Brrrrr.. but I loved the sun set photo
