Tahoe Rim Trail: Day 4

Day 4: 24 Miles

We finally got some sun! It was a cold and clear night last night, and a cold and clear day today. We both had a little extra pep in our step with the nice weather today. And we saw tons of people today. Mostly mountain bikers, but also day hikers and a backpacker or two.

In the afternoon, we climbed over the highest point on the trail, a little over 10,200 feet. There was still a little snow on the ground here and there, but we kept our feet dry.

We planned to go another mile or two today, but we came upon a nice spot with a great view of the lake, and decided to stop early and enjoy it. It’s windy, so we pitched the tarp super low to the ground in a little patch of trees, and enjoyed dinner watching the sun set over the lake.
