Days 176 & 177: 2100 Miles

I am writing this post after the fact because I really didn’t feel like writing anything the past couple days. We went into the Hundred Mile, excited and ready to move, but the terrain proved harder than we anticipated, at least in the beginning. I fell and hit my head the first day, and then the second day I fell again and banged both of my knees on rocks. I was hating Maine and the trail most of the time. We did 15 miles each day and crossed over Chairback Mountain and about a million ponds. We crossed 2100 miles without noticing. We stopped to camp just before a stand of old growth White Pines, with plans to get up early in the morning and enjoy the forest at dawn.
