Day 77: Seiad Valley

Today we went up the biggest climb of the NorCal section of the PCT. First though, we had to finish dropping down into Seiad Valley. From over 7,000 feet yesterday we dropped down under 1,400 feet. The last few miles into town were a road walk which took us right in front of the cafe, market, and post office. We stopped for a huge breakfast before climbing for 8 miles, back over 6,000 feet. Of course it was across a burn area, so shade was limited. Fortunately, water was not too scarce and once we got past the worst burn section the scenery improved. We walked 25 miles today, and tonight is our last night in California.
