Day 139: A Sea of Granite

It was cold and windy this morning, and we left camp with most of our layers on. Fortunately, it did warm up and the wind died down for the most part as the day went on. It was some tough hiking today: rocky ups and downs, with 3 big climbs. Every climb brought us over a pass to a new canyon, with towering granite peaks on either side. There are few other people out here, but as we get closer to Yosemite Valley we’ll likely see more people. We hiked 23.5 miles today, and they were hard on the body. We are glad to be camped in a warmer area than last night with no wind. We even had a campfire tonight.
