I forgot to mention that the same guy who gave us a ride from Subway was at the shelter last night! He is doing various short hikes then going to Trail Days. Today we heard there was trail magic ahead, so we were hoping to get some sodas. Instead we ran into a giant party, hosted by a former thru hiker named Riff Raff. There was beer, sodas, tons of chips, salad, rice and beans, and more. Many people are camped there tonight and the party will continue until trail days. We hung out for awhile then moved on a few more miles to a nearly empty shelter. We hiked about 14 miles today. One person is here sleeping inside the shelter, we are tented up the hill a bit. Tomorrow we will walk into Virginia.
