Day 61: Wind Rock

This morning we got up early to beat the heat, and it sprinkled for the first hour or so. We made ten miles by around 12:30 and stopped for lunch. It rained again for a little while. After lunch we went past the Captain’s place, a private residence that allows free camping. To access the yard you take a zipline on a pulley system over the creek. There was a hiker feed last night and some leftover beer so we had one before moving on. In the afternoon it rained again, so we took refuge under an overhanging rock and cooked dinner. Finally we made it to camp at wind rock, a ledge with great views of the sunset after 18.8 miles today. It was warm despite all the rain, and should be warmer tomorrow.
