Day 62: Sinking Creek Mountain

We woke up early again this morning, ready to beat the heat, but first we enjoyed breakfast at wind rock. We had some big ups and downs today, and it was a hot one, but we still made good time even with lots of breaks. We passed the largest oak tree on the southern AT, over 300 years old. Also saw deer, a tortoise, a black snake, and a lot of frogs (or is it toads). Apparently we just missed a bear too. 17 miles today, and we got a little bit of rain after we set up camp, just so we can say it rained today!
