Day 7: 20 Miles
Today was another great day. We slept in a little bit, knowing we didn’t have to walk as many miles today. Early in the morning, we entered the Desolation Wilderness and spent the day walking from lake to lake to lake. We climbed Dick’s Pass in the early afternoon and are lunch at the top, reminiscing about the last time we were here, two years ago.
I’d forgotten how long and rocky the trail was between Dick’s Pass and Aloha Lake, and by the end of the day we were both grateful we didn’t have to walk more than 20 miles today. My feet were beat up from the rocky terrain, and I was more fatigued than I was expecting. We set up camp early and enjoyed the sunset over the lake for our last night on trail. Just six miles to the car from here.
