Today was one of those days that was almost a total disaster. It rained in the night and into the morning, so we packed up in the rain and headed out on the rocky trail. We made it to the road but were unable to find a ride into town. We walked but took the wrong road which added about 3 extra miles. We took a wrong turn and had to turn around, and then it started pouring. Finally we got into town, ate lunch and had a beer with our friends, then checked into the hotel. We asked the front desk about shuttles and she gave us the number of a local man who took us to Walmart and also took one of our friends back to the trail. We managed to get caught in the rain again when we walked to Cabela’s later on, but at least we were closer to a shower and a bed at that point.
