Day 126: The Motivating Power of Food

It rained hard in the night last night, and we woke up glad to be dry in the shelter. It was cool enough outside for long sleeves during breakfast. The morning was misty, the trail was thick with pine needles, and we passed several ponds. We had a few climbs in the morning and the cooler weather was really nice. 17.4 miles into the day there was a hotel that lets hikers fill their water bottles and order food for delivery. Despite leaving later than usual this morning, we made it to the hotel by 3:45 and enjoyed soda and Chinese food for an early dinner. We hiked another 3 miles to camp at a pond. We got here early enough to enjoy the sunset too. The scenery has been getting better and better the further North we go.
