Day 130: Vermud

It rained in the night and most of the morning. The trail was muddy yesterday, and the rain only made it moreso. We entered a wilderness area for the first time in hundreds of miles. No roads, no noise from cars, a nice quiet trail. Also, the uphills are back. We’ve had some serious ups and downs the past couple of days, another big one tomorrow, and it will get even tougher in New Hampshire when we get to the White Mountains. Today we went 17+ miles. We’ve seen lots of Long Trail thru hikers, mostly on their 3rd or 4th day out here. Brings back memories of Georgia!
