AK to AZ Day 62: Prince Rupert

September 3
23mi/37km
1200ft/366m elevation gain

We woke up in a fog, as usual. Knowing we only had a short ride to town, we waited a little while to get up, hoping the sun would peek through, but we got bored and gave up after not very long.

The first part of the ride was quite foggy, but the sun did come out eventually. We made it to town by lunchtime and found a cheap motel that could check us in right away.

Prince Rupert is where we will catch the ferry to Port Hardy on Vancouver Island. The ride will take us through the inside passage, something we are really looking forward to.

Knowing Prince Rupert is a bigger town than Port Hardy, we got groceries for the next leg of our journey. We ate some food and did laundry, booked our ferry reservations, and spent some time relaxing. In town, we saw a couple deer, which is a first on this journey. No black bears today.
